Lequitta Singleton - Jones – Planning Assistant
The Russellville Planning Commission consists of ten (10) members who serve without compensation.
The Alderman is selected by the City Council from among its members. The Alderman shall be an ex-office
member only and shall not have voting privileges. The other nine members shall be citizens holding no
other municipal office or appointment, qualified by knowledge or experience to act upon matters pertaining
to the physical, social and economic development of the City. The members' appointments are for a period
of four (4) years. The Planning Commission shall designate one of its members as chairman and shall
select a vice chairman and secretary.

The duties of the Commission to conduct public hearings and makes decisions on site plan and
architectural review for residential, commercial and industrial development, and subdivisions.
They also make recommendations to the City Council on rezoning, special use permits, vacating street or
alley, subdivision, subdivisions with variances, condominium complexes, as well as neighborhood plans.
Also the Commission makes recommendations of planning regulations, design review policies, development
of parks and open space.
The Russellville Planning Commission meets the 4th Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the
City Council Chambers at City Hall.
Board of Adjustment
The duties of the Board of Adjustment is to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged
there is error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the administrative
official in the enforcement of this Zoning Ordinance. The Board may affirm or reverse, in whole
or in part.
The Russellville Board of Adjustment meets the 4th Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m. in the
City Council Chambers at City Hall.
